At Ability Rehab, we provide high-quality, evidence-based occupational therapy and speech pathology. Specifically, we help people reach their goals and improve their quality of life. Our therapists work across a broad range of clinical specialties. As a result, we respond to what each client actually needs.
We work collaboratively with clients, families, caregivers, and support coordinators. In turn, we build tailored interventions that promote independence and well-being. We are a registered NDIS provider. Furthermore, our team has worked within the NDIS since its local rollout.
You can see us at our clinic, 1/223-225 Lower Heidelberg Road, Ivanhoe East. Our home-visiting service can also come to you. Either way, clients receive care in the setting that suits them best.

Occupational Therapy
Supports daily living skills, home modifications, equipment prescription, functional capacity assessment, and participation at home and in the community. Specifically, it helps people do the everyday things that matter to them.

How We Work
At Ability Rehab, we are more than just therapists. Indeed, we partner with clients to help them reach their goals and live fully. You might choose clinic-based therapy, or you might prefer home visits. Either way, we aim to make a positive, lasting impact.
Our practice draws on trauma-informed, neurodiversity-affirming, and culturally responsive frameworks. Therefore, therapy respects each client's identity and lived experience. It also helps families feel confident applying strategies between sessions.
Where appropriate, our occupational therapists and speech pathologists work together. Consequently, support addresses a person's overall goals rather than one part of them. We develop those goals collaboratively. Furthermore, we review them regularly as circumstances change.
Meet Our Team
At Ability Rehab, our therapists sit at the heart of everything we do. Each clinician brings deep experience and a specialised skill set. Consequently, we offer a broad range of occupational therapy and speech pathology services. Then we tailor those services to the needs of each client.
Our Directors are Occupational Therapists. Specifically, their backgrounds span medico-legal expert witness work, complex disability, and neurological rehabilitation. They also cover intellectual disability and behaviours of concern. Furthermore, our Directors and Team Leaders provide senior oversight across clinical work.
Our team provides compassionate, client-centred care. Similarly, we work collaboratively with clients, their families, and support networks. Overall, that collaboration achieves meaningful outcomes. From initial assessment to ongoing therapy, we’re here to support and empower you.

What is Ability Rehab?
Ability Rehab is an allied health clinic based in Ivanhoe East, Melbourne. Specifically, we provide occupational therapy and speech pathology for adults and children. We are a registered NDIS provider. Furthermore, our team has worked within the NDIS since the scheme rolled out in our local area. Therapy runs from our clinic, via telehealth, and through mobile visits across Melbourne.
Where is Ability Rehab located?
Our clinic is at 1/223-225 Lower Heidelberg Road, Ivanhoe East, VIC 3079, with on-site parking. However, we work with clients anywhere across Melbourne. Most of our home, school, and community visits happen across Melbourne's north-east. Specifically, that includes Heidelberg, Kew, Doncaster, Bundoora, Eltham, Greensborough, and Balwyn.
Is Ability Rehab a registered NDIS provider?
Yes. We work with NDIA-managed, plan-managed, and self-managed participants. Furthermore, we work closely with support coordinators and plan managers throughout the funding and intake process. Our team also explains what each service covers before therapy begins.
What services does Ability Rehab provide?
We provide occupational therapy and speech pathology across two main client groups. Specifically, we support adults through our occupational therapy, speech pathology, and home care services. We also support children through our paediatric OT and paediatric speech pathology teams. In addition, we complete Functional Capacity Assessments, home modifications, housing assessments, and equipment prescription.
Do you see children as well as adults?
Yes. Our children's services cover paediatric occupational therapy and paediatric speech pathology, from infancy through adolescence. Meanwhile, our adult services cover occupational therapy, speech pathology, and home care support. We then match each client with the clinician best suited to their goals.
Can you come to my home, school, or aged care facility?
Yes. Alongside clinic appointments, our therapists travel across Melbourne for home, school, community, and aged care visits. Telehealth is also available where clinically appropriate. Therefore, you can choose whichever setting suits you best.
Do you offer therapy in languages other than English?
Yes. Our paediatric speech pathology team includes a bilingual speech pathologist working in Mandarin and English. Consequently, culturally and linguistically diverse families can access assessment and therapy in either or both languages. That remains a rare service across Melbourne's north-east.
How do I get started with Ability Rehab?
The simplest first step is to submit a referral online, or call us on 0478 491 188. Our admin team then confirms your details and the funding pathway. Support coordinators, plan managers, GPs, specialists, and family members can all refer on someone's behalf. Private clients and NDIS participants do not need a referral.
